Sports Physical Therapy Physical Therapist Volunteers at the Boston Marathon!
Apr. 19, 2010
For the 4th year in a row Nicole Siegel, PT, physical
therapist in the Princeton facility, went to Boston as a
volunteer for the Boston Marathon medical staff. Nicole's duty
on race day is to provide acute emergency medical care to the
runners. She was stationed in the medical tent at the
finish line where she join a team of physical therapists,
athletic trainers, nurses, physicians and EMTs providing
medical care to the runners. They primarily were available to treat
people suffering from heat illness, hypothermia, and
dehydration. Their job was to provide comprehensive
medical care to help save lives and lessen the burden on the city's
emergency health care system. We are very proud of Nicole's desire
to help others in their athletic endeavors...be sure to
congratulate her!
